Introduction to the Guwahati High Court – The Gauhati High Court is the highest judicial forum and final court of appeal under the Constitution for the states of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh. The court was founded on 5 April 1948 as the High Court of Assam. Its jurisdiction subsequently grew to include the northeastern states, in line with the restructuring of India’s administration.
